One day, there was a boy named Jimmy Carter. He was riding his bike to school when he saw a strange cave across the street and near the forest. Jimmy had never seen this cave before, but he didn’t think much of it. After school was over, he saw the inside of the cave glow a bright yellow. What could it be? Jimmy thought.

The next day, Jimmy decided to go to the cave after school. When he walked inside, nothing was there. Just pitch black. He was about to leave when he saw old drawings of people carved into the wall. He rubbed against the drawings, and they began to glow. Suddenly, the back of the cave crumbled, and revealed a tunnel that went deep into the ground. Jimmy got scared and ran away.

It was the weekend now and Jimmy decided to take his friend with him, Mark. Jimmy and Mark brought supplies like flashlights, rope, water, food, and other things that might come in handy. They ventured down deep into the tunnel until there they saw torches hanging from the walls. They heard people arguing down in the tunnel.

“I paid for the food so I’m going to get it!” One man shouted.

“You didn’t pay the full amount!” Another told him.

They snuck down and saw a huge village underground! It was full of people that looked like they were from Ancient Egypt. Mark saw a massive snake being dragged into a cage by a group of warriors. Jimmy saw a huge temple, and on the top was a magnificent king with a golden crown, golden bracelets, and golden necklaces. The king saw the two boys and startled back.

“They’ve found us!” He screamed.

Everyone in the town started to panic. People ran. People grabbed their kids. Some packed and began to go to the back of the village.

“What’s going on?” Mark asked.

“I don’t know.” Jimmy replied.

The two made their way to the top of the temple and screamed, “We mean no harm!” But it was so loud that no one could hear them. 5 warriors came and trapped the boys in a circle.

“This was a big mistake!” Mark cried. He dove through the warriors and ran out of the cave, leaving Jimmy all alone. They threw Jimmy into the dungeon.

“Help!” Jimmy shouted, but no one came.

What was he going to do?
