It was a dark stormy night in the small town of Mayfield, a town surrounded by forest and mountains. Carl watched outside the window as rain poured down onto the ground.

“I want to go outside.” Carl told his mother.

“You can’t,” She said. “It’s raining outside.”

Carl went to his room and started to play his new video game. While playing his game, Carl heard a strange noise come from the basement. What was that? Carl went down to the basement, thinking it was his mother

“Hello?” Carl asked. ” Is anyone there?”

No reply. Carl was about to go back to his room when the door slammed shut! Carl tried to open the door, but it was locked.

“Help!” He cried.

He looked down in the basement and saw a creature standing in the corner of the room. It had no face. The creature was just bones and flesh. The creature opened up his head, revealing a nasty mouth full of sharp teeth. Carl screamed in fear. He ran and hid behind an old shelf.

Carl’s mother was washing dishes when she heard a loud bang coming from the basement.

“Carl what are you doing?” His mother asked.

Carls mother went to the basement door and opened it up. She saw carl screaming for help, trying to escape the basement.

“Thank goodness you came!” Carl said, gasping for air.

“Whats going on?” His mother asked.

“There is a creature in there!”

Carl’s mother turned to the doorway and saw a large ugly creature crawling up the stairs fast. She quickly shut the door and locked it. She went and put a chair under the doorknob for better support.

“What was that thing?” Carl’s mother asked.

“I don’t know,” Carl replied, “But it was scary.”

Carl’s mother called the police and told them about the creature, but they didn’t believe a word she was saying. There was another loud bang on the basement door.

“Carl go pack your things.” His mother said.

Carl went to gather his things, and the two went out the house, away from the awful creature. They stayed the night at a hotel. Carl went to school for the day and told his friends about the thing he saw.

“Last night, a creature came and attacked me and my mom!” Carl said.

“Really?” His friend Mike asked.

“Yes. It hid in our basement. It almost killed me!”

At lunch, when Carl was getting his food, he saw something strange in the window. It was the creature from last night! It had followed Carl to school. Carl couldn’t help it. He screamed and told a teacher, who was standing in the doorway.

“Theres a monster in the window!” He told the teacher.

The teacher, already annoyed, looked outside the window, but there was nothing there.

“Carl, you need to go eat lunch.” The teacher told him.

Carl was embarrassed. Everyone laughed at him. Suddenly, the window burst open. The creature came into the school. It roared at the students and teachers.

Kids screamed. They ran out the back door, but the creature followed behind. He snatched kids and ate them full. Carl ran and hid in the playground. What was going to happen? Soon, a SWAT team arrived on the scene. They were armed with heavy weapons and gear, ready to take down the creature.

“Everyone get ready!” The chief called.

The SWAT team aimed and fired their weapons at the creature. The creature reeled back and ran out into the forest.

“We’ll get it next time.” The chief said. The SWAT team started helping kids and teachers who were hurt in the incident. School let out early and kids went home. There was still a big search for the creature, and people wouldn’t give up until they found it.
